Placing the spotlight on quality
To cater for the requirements of our customers and our suppliers, we consistently pursue the notion of professional distribution. Great service and expertise, coupled with a high level of processing quality, are prominent features of our work at all times. We are continually working to optimise our internal processes and our logistics routines.
To meet these and other objectives, we have introduced a quality management system which meets both German requirements and European quality standards to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008. Our targets, routines, responsibilities and results are exactly defined in accordance with a quality-management handbook and pertinent rules of procedure. The resultant continual process improvement is characterised in particular by the fact that the company`s goals, based on customer requirements, are constantly reviewed to ensure they are being met, whilst any discrepancies are analysed and processes optimised. This makes it a quality-management system that is geared to the needs of our customers and the practical realities of everyday life, not simply involving the implementation of purely official, theoretical provisions.
ISO 14001 is a part of a series of international standards applicable to any organization, anywhere relating to environmental management. Based on the "Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle", ISO 14001 specifies the most important requirements to identify, control and monitor the environmental aspects of any organization, and also how to manage and improve the whole system. At the same time, the appropriate management of environmental issues contributes positively to economic gain and increases the competitiveness of our company. Our company is certified to DIN EN ISO 14001:2004 and we optimize our business relationship with like-minded suppliers and customers, i.e. those who demonstrate their commitment through internationally recognized standards such as the ISO 14000 series.
In July 2011, WDI AG successfully achieved certification to ISO/TS 16949:2009. This means that WDI AG now adopts the rules applied by automobile manufacturers, known first and foremost for their strict quality controls. Although ISO/TS 16949:2009 primarily focuses on the design and production of components and on manufacturers’ own corresponding quality-management processes, WDI has decided to apply this standard to all its own relevant internal processes and associated services too. In actual fact, ISO/TS 16949:2009 is an international standard specifically aimed at original equipment in the automotive sector and was developed by IATF (International Automotive Task Force), a body made up of European, American and Japanese manufacturers and associations within the automobile industry. ISO/TS 16949 not only contains all DIN EN ISO 9001 requirements, but also includes specific additional requirements applicable to the automotive sector. ISO/TS 16949:2009 is governed by the principles of maximum product reliability and maximum process stability.
We are continually checking our quality-management system: it is reviewed on a regular basis by the management with the help of internal and external advisers.
